2023 We'Moon Greeting Cards
Esperanza depicts an ethnically ambiguous womyn holding a blue flower of healing. Her braid is a symbol of community and her bright clothing a message of hope. The cactuses envelope her as a reminder of the resilience that she possesses. The yellow halo is the divinity she acquires through nature. Her Being is connected to the cosmos by the stars inside her.
The Mother Tree Stands as one with the stag, the egg,
and the sprouting mystery.
The frozen ground begins to thaw
in the dreaming moon lit night,
promising Spring in the morning.
The snow queen emerges with her precious beckoning;
There will be bountiful flowering again!
Our lives are inextricably woven by the natural rhythms of the Moon. Diosa de la Luna, the Moon Goddess, inspires and invites us to celebrate the Sacred Feminine and our connection to Her. Although subtle, the Goddess image and power is illustrated in Kay’s creation.
I created Stardust to remind us that we are all connected to each other, like Stardust. I have learned that we all need one another to survive on this Earthly plane, and that if we work on our own inner brilliance—healing, growing, creating—we can all shine beautifully in this world together!
This painting, by Canadian Métis Artist Leah Marie Dorion, celebrates the role of the horse in First Nations and Métis culture on the high plains. Historically, the horse provided Indigenous women with freedoms such as mobility; it lightened the burden of daily work and travel, along with providing them with spiritual connection to these magnificent beings. These two women have wind currents surrounding them while their hair is blowing freely in the wind. The horse hoof symbols in the wind currents represent the sacredness of their bond with the horses. The two women are working, and have packs on their backs. They are metaphorically compared to the ants in the ground who also work together as a community.
There are many passageways we travel through during a lifetime. Here is a magical, colorful door partially hidden behind flowers and vines. This ancient door is adorned with symbols of the sacred Elements. There are two cat-size windows shaped like a crescent moon and star, for cats often visit the ancestors on the other side.Grasp the ornate door handles, turn them until you hear or feel the click, open wide and experience the Passage Between Worlds.
